What is the ASHI?
ASHI is the American Society of Home Inspectors, an organization of independent, professional home inspectors who are required to make a commitment, from the day they join as ASHI Associates, to conduct inspections in accordance with the ASHI Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics, which prohibits engaging in conflict-of-interest activities that might compromise their objectivity.
ASHI Associates work their way to ASHI Certified Inspector status as they meet rigorous requirements, including passing a comprehensive, written technical exam and performing a minimum of 250 professional, fee-paid home inspections conducted in accordance with the ASHI Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics.
Mandatory continuing education helps the membership stay current with the latest in technology, materials and professional skills. |

Why should I have an Inspection?
An Inspection of your new home will give you a complete evaluation of the condition of your property before you purchase it. We will examine the Plumbing, Heating, Electrical, Roofing, and Structural Components and determine where repairs might be needed.
When you submit an offer for a home, you should request a Home Inspection contingency. Most Home Contingencies allow 5 business days to complete the inspection. Call us immediately after the offer is accepted to schedule your appointment.
The advantage of having an inspection before you purchase your new home is that if we find some items that were definately in need of repair, you can request the repairs prior to closing, reduce the cost to purchase the home, ask for money back at closing or decide not to purchase the home. You could wind up saving yourself hundreds or even thousands of dollars by taking care of this in the beginning.
By learning about the home before purchasing it, you will have "Peace of Mind" |
